Piedmont Technical College has an opening for a WIA Director. The selected candidate will coordinate services with WIA partner agencies and programs such as SCDEW, GLEAMNS, VR, TAA, etc. Work independently in administering and managing multiple contracts and financial agreements while adhering to strict federal and state guidelines. Responsible for the overall development and management of the WIA program and the SCWorks Center at Piedmont Technical College following strict federal and state guidelines and policy at all times. Also will be responsible for WIA/WR workshop staff and scheduling throughout the Piedmont Tech service area. THIS IS A FULL-TIME TEMPORARY GRANT POSITION.
This part time Enrollment Advisor will advise and counsel new students on academic and vocational goals, major selection and career choice. Provide interpretation of placement test scores, prerequisites, college policies and procedures, academic requirements and course delivery methods. Review student barriers, and strategies for success. Guide students through selection of first semester coursework and assist with initial registration process. Train students on use of advising and registration tools, such as Pathway, DegreeWorks and Class Scheduler. Develop educational plans for the first 1-3 semesters for new students. Follow up during first semester to assist in transition to the faculty advisor.
Bachelor's degree required. Also needed are critical thinking skills, communication and counseling skills, understanding of diverse student population, creativity. Some experience with Student Services preferred.
Position is part time temporary, number of hours per week is still being determined. Preferred work hours will include evenings until 7 pm Monday to Thursday.
The part-time advisor will provide virtual academic advisement to new and returning students at PTC's county campus locations as well as to students exclusively taking online coursework. Duties include working with county campus staff to facilitate virtual appointments with students, setting up a system for advisement of online students, working with students to clarify educational goals, develop and update educational plans, make referrals to appropriate academic and student support resources. Serve as an advising resource for county campus advisors. Coordinate with students' assigned academic advisor. Approximately 25 hours per week.
Located at the Greenwood Campus with some travel to PTC's county campuses.
This position will end on June 30, 2015.
Bachelor's degree required. Also needed are critical thinking skills, communication and counseling skills, understanding of diverse student population, creativity and knowledge of virtual tools to support online and virtual advising. Some experience with student services preferred.
Adjunct/Dual Credit Instructors
Piedmont Technical College invites applications for the positions of adjunct instructors (temporary, part-time) to teach courses in the following curriculum at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county campuses in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, on-line and dual credit instructors to teach in high schools. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience, especially at the community and technical college or secondary level.
Biology: A Master’s degree in Biology or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology is required.

Piedmont Technical College seeks part time Peer Mentors to provide academic and social support for Project Genesis students enrolled in the Associate in Arts, Criminal Justice, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Computer Technology and Mechatronics Technology programs; provide appropriate campus referrals for students in need of campus services; communicate with Director of Genesis and Genesis Case Manager regarding issues or concerns pertaining to mentees; and attend meetings and trainings as assigned. Candidates must be currently enrolled 2nd year students at Piedmont Technical College in good academic standing in the identified programs.
