Piedmont Technical College is seeking a full-time Biology Instructor. The successful candidate will be responsible for Biology instruction/laboratory including Anatomy and Physiology courses. Additional duties include student advisement, course development, community and college service, and professional development.
Master's degree in Biology, or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in biological science. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience, especially at the community and technical college level; commitment to creating multiple learning options to serve a diverse student body with diverse learning styles and learning needs; commitment to improving student learning by the integration of new technology and other innovative approaches to classroom instruction and curriculum design; understanding and commitment to the educational philosophy of the public two-year college system; and commitment to interact with students outside a classroom setting as an instructor and an academic advisor.
Piedmont Technical College has an opening for a CNC Instructor. CNC Instructor provides leadership, management, planning and coordination of instruction for students, student advisement, recruiting, student retention, marketing and the provision of services to the College and community in a professional manner. Includes curriculum and instructional development, assessment functions to include program learning outcomes and student learning outcomes. Teach courses (min 20-24 hour load) in accordance with the established syllabi to a diverse student body; participate in the assessment of the Machine Tool instructional needs and to assist in the planning & delivery necessary to meet those needs. Foster and promote all educational programs, institutes, clinics & activities offered through the Department & the Continuing Education Division. Assist with the coordination & attend activities that relate to the advisory committee.
Machine Tool Instructor provides leadership, management, planning and coordination of instruction for students, student advisement, recruiting, marketing and the provision of services to the College and community in a professional manner. Piedmont Technical College is seeking a candidate for its Dean of Admissions position. The Dean of Admissions is a key administrative position reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment and Communications with responsibilities for leading and managing the outreach, recruiting, and admissions functions of the college. In addition to supervising a staff of nine, works closely with the Dean of Students, Director of Financial Aid, Director of Marketing, Director of Research and Reporting and academic deans to make data-driven decisions regarding enrollment. Manage the Admissions & Recruiting functions of the college insuring a seamless, student-oriented process from first inquiry of prospects to enrolled students, following all state, federal and college policies.
Piedmont Technical college is seeking a Mechatronics Instructor to:
1. Teach courses (min 20-24 hour load) to a diverse student body, participate and coordinate in the assessment of the mechatronics department's instructional needs and to manage in the planning and delivery necessary to meet those needs. Foster and promote all educational programs, institutes, clinics and activities offered through the Mechatronics Department & the Continuing Education Division. Coordinate & attend activities that relate to the advisory committee.
2. Advise and keep records of assigned students advisees with division and departmental advising policy and procedures. Make student referrals when deemed necessary to other college personnel. Maintain established office hours. Assist with the division in recruiting and retaining students in the program. Assist students with placement upon graduation.
3. Support the Mechatronics department in developing reports and budgets as input into the area planning/reporting system. Aid in the hiring, training, evaluation, and loading of both full-time and adjunct instructors in the Mechatronics Department. Participate in the bidding process for equipment including specifications preparation.
4. Render services through non-instructional (classroom/laboratory) activities that impact the operation of the division/department and the accomplishment of overall college objectives. Participates in faculty meetings to evaluate and improve the program and department.
5. Professionally make efforts to keep pace with developing trends & ideas both in vocational/ technical education & in one’s technical specialty. Seek and share expertise with others at the local and state level.
6. Attends LEAN trainings, initiates & in-corporates LEAN principles/practices in daily operations in pursuit of continuous improvement; performs other duties as assigned. Represent the department/division/campus by participating in community & professional meetings related to Mechatronics Dept. Complete all mandatory professional development training set forth by division.
Associate's degree (in Mechatronics Technology or related field) and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Must have five (5) years of Mechatronics work related experience. Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Technology or related field preferred. Master electrical license or Journeyman electrical license also preferred.
Adjunct/Dual Credit Instructors
Piedmont Technical College invites applications for the positions of adjunct instructors (temporary, part-time) to teach courses in the following curriculum at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county campuses in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, on-line and dual credit instructors to teach in high schools. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience, especially at the community and technical college or secondary level.

Piedmont Technical College seeks part time Peer Mentors to provide academic and social support for Project Genesis students enrolled in the Associate in Arts, Criminal Justice, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Computer Technology and Mechatronics Technology programs; provide appropriate campus referrals for students in need of campus services; communicate with Director of Genesis and Genesis Case Manager regarding issues or concerns pertaining to mentees; and attend meetings and trainings as assigned.
