Summer Camps & Programs

Young people looking for something different, fun and exciting to do will find that special activity on Piedmont Technical College’s Greenwood campus this summer.

 

Automotive CampAUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY SUMMER PROGRAM

At this camp, students will learn about tools in the Automotive Technology center, visit local dealerships, tour BMW in Spartanburg and visit the NASCAR History Museum.  This week-long program is open to rising middle school students (rising seventh, eighth and ninth graders) who have an interest in learning about careers in the automotive field.  Enrollment is limited.

Digitech CampDIGITECH SUMMER PROGRAM

If you love computers and photography and are between the ages of 10-16, then this is the camp for you!  This one week summer camp will engage participants in real-world, hands-on applications in photography, animation, website design, computer hardware and internet security.  Participants will take a field trip to a fun and exciting location so they can capture photographs using the technology learned at the camp.  Lunch and snacks provided.

Electronics CampEXPLORING ELECTRONICS SUMMER PROGRAM

Ages 12 and 13 year olds (typically 7th and 8th graders) will explore the world of electronics in a fun and interactive format. Participants will be introduced to circuits, electronic components, interpreting electronic schematic diagrams, and the use of a multi meter.  They will have hands on experience in building circuits, and using a multi meter to take measurements

GATE CampGATE SUMMER PROGRAM

This summer program for rising 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders and is dedicated to introducing young women to the disciplines of engineering technology.  The high school student will gain knowledge through hands-on activities such as robotics, automation, and computer-aided drafting and design using solid modeling programs while interacting with engineering technology faculty, students, and staff.

Junior Dessert CampJUNIOR DESSERT DESIGNER SUMMER PROGRAM

Participants from ages 11-13 (typically 6th, 7th, and 8th graders) will learn how easy and rewarding it is to decorate beautiful cupcakes and cookies that will delight your family and friends. Our hands-on classes teaches  decorating techniques used by the professionals you see on television. Learn their secrets and the tricks of the trade. Decorating kits included.

Junior Survival CampJUNIOR SURVIVAL SUMMER PROGRAM

This camp is great for those that enjoy the outdoors, weekend camping trips, or hiking trails!  Campers from ages 10-12 (typically 5th, 6th, and 7th graders) will learn basic first aid, CPR, and survival skills to keep them safe.  They will also learn the importance of fire, water, shelter, food, signaling, and compass reading.  Campers will even learn what to do when you encounter a wild animal.  Each camper will take home their own first-aid kit.

Manufacturing CampMANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY SUMMER PROGRAM

This camp will introduce ages 14 and 15 year olds to the manufacturing design process in a fun and interactive format. Participant will learn about the manufacturing process, safety, and efficiency and will use this knowledge  to develop and compete in an efficient production line.

Princess CampPRINCESS CAMP

Little girls ages 8 and 9 will love everything about this camp from pretending, dancing, music, make-up, fingernail polish, princess stories, crafting princess accessories and a tea party.  Children will spend their time "being princesses" while learning proper manners, self-esteem, social interaction with others, dance movements, and coordination.  The week will end with a tea party for the princesses.

Robotic Engineering CampROBOTIC ENGINEERING SUMMER PROGRAM

Calling all future robotic inventors!  This summer program will be fun as well as educational!  Participants from ages 11-13 (typically 5th, 6th, and 7th graders) will learn problem-solving techniques and communication skills as they build their own robot and bring it to life.  Participants will also learn about electricity and how it works while building a motor. Join us as we complete fun new projects and learn exciting engineering skills!

Science CampSCIENCE SUMMER PROGRAM

Piedmont Technical College's Science Camp will introduce students to hands-on activities that will impact their view of the natural world. Working in teams alongside mentors, students will explore weather, ecology and genetics topics. The camp will focus on data collection, analysis and presentation.

Tiny Princess CampTINY PRINCESS CAMP
