Andrews Starts Successful Career Path at PTC

Brandon Andrews, Graduate

Brandon Andrews tried on many hats after graduating from high school. It wasn’t until he enrolled in the Building Construction Technology program at Piedmont Technical College that he found the right fit.

“I got plenty of hands-on experience at Piedmont Tech out on the job site,” Brandon says. “Having to think for myself to come up with solutions meant that when I graduated from PTC, I had all the tools necessary to work for myself or run a company.”

After a successful two years at PTC, Andrews transferred to Clemson University to pursue a Construction Science and Management degree, and graduated in the Summer of 2013. He's already landed a job as a Project Engineer with Moss and Associates Construction.

Graduation: May 2010

Andrews will be travelling all over the country in his new position, working on a wide variety of projects: from solar installations, to commercial and residential projects.

"I'm excited about what the future holds," said Andrews.

Before Andrews came to PTC, he started at Francis Marion University for a year. He left Francis Marion to go to work, but he knew he needed to go back to school to find a career that was right for him. Then, inspiration came.

"Before I came to Piedmont, I helped a man remodel houses, and that showed me what I feel I was destined to do,” he said. “God showed me the light and began to open doors for me.”

Andrews enrolled in PTC's Building Construction Technology program. The program turned out to be the perfect fit, and he credits much of his success to his instructors, Bobby Roche and Chad Teague.

“Going through the BCT program has enhanced my leadership skills,” said Andrews. “Bobby and Chad also taught us discipline, teamwork and how to have a sense of pride about yourself and what you do.”
