PTC Offers Tuition-Free Certificate Through Historic Partnership with SC Criminal Justice Academy

To address training needs and workforce shortages in law enforcement in the state, a progressive partnership announced earlier this year includes Piedmont Technical College (PTC) and 15 other of the state’s technical colleges to assist the Academy by offering a new pre-Academy certificate. PTC will start offering the new training in January 2022. 

Piedmont Tech Holds Summer Graduations

Piedmont Technical College (PTC) conducted two in-person summer commencement exercises on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the James Medford Family Event Center. In all, approximately 200 students received degrees. 

Newberry Schools Superintendent Visits Piedmont Tech Campus

Alvin Pressley, superintendent of the School District of Newberry County, last week visited the Piedmont Technical College campus in Newberry to observe his district’s dual-enrolled students taking college classes to get a jump start on their career plans. He also enjoyed a tour of the campus led by Lisa Toland, PTC dean of off campus academic affairs. 

Piedmont Tech Automotive Students Receive EPA Certification

Nine automotive technology students at Piedmont Technical College (PTC) recently completed the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 609 Technician Training and Certification Program. Each passed the EPA’s certification test with a score of 84% or higher.
