customercare1009Piedmont Technical College’s Continuing Education and Economic Development division has partnered with the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce to offer Customer Care Essentials training for area businesses.

This training, funded in part by the Incumbent Worker Grant through the Upper Savannah Council of Government, is a four-module series of classes designed to improve business success by increasing the quality of customer service. The series includes: Customer Service to Boost Your Bottom Line, Customer Loyalty, Supervisory Development and How Technology Equals Efficiency.

Customer Care Essentials will assist small businesses in creating a foundation for customer retention, brand loyalty and business growth. A beneficial program to employees in any business, Customer Care provides general knowledge that can be easily applied.

“The Chamber wanted to offer this program to meet the needs of our small business community,” said Angelle LaBorde, president/CEO of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. “We felt that it was necessary to provide a low cost training option to assist them in the areas of employee retention and skill development.”

In a time of economic recession, small business survival is often dependent upon customer retention. These programs will help train employees to retain and serve those individuals at the minimal cost of $10 per person/per module.

“About 80 percent of most chambers’ membership is comprised of small businesses, including ours,” said LaBorde. “That is why this training is so important.”
