Successful online learners have access to the right computer equipment, a good understanding of the Internet, the ability to work independently, and great time management skills. We recommend that you talk to an admissions counselor or faculty member before attempting an online course. 1. Apply for AdmissionSelect one of the following application methods:
2. Apply for Financial AidYou must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) immediately to receive lottery tuition or federal financial assistance. Do not wait until classes start! Click here to learn about financial aid opportunities and policies. 3. Complete or Exempt the Placement TestSchedule an appointment to take Piedmont Tech's placement test by calling our Admissions Office at (864) 941-8369 or by calling any County Center. Unless waived by college personnel, you will need to either take a placement test or submit your current and official SAT, ACT, COMPASS or ASSET score report. Visit our Testing Center Web site for more information on test exemptions and sample test questions. 4. Submit TranscriptsSubmit an official copy of your high school transcript or GED and any college transcripts. 5. Meet with an Enrollment AdvisorContact a campus near you to meet with an enrollment advisor and plan your schedule of classes. 6. Register for ClassesRegister for classes and receive a printed schedule and a statement for tuition and fees. To do this by phone, call our Admissions Office at (864) 941-8369 or (864) 941-8370. 7. Pay Tuition and FeesTo pay by credit card, contact our Business Office by phone at (864) 941-8321 or complete our online payment form. 8. Obtain Your PTC Pathway ID NumberPTC Pathway allows you to use the Internet to access grades, course schedules, tuition balances, financial statements, and certain student services. At the time of enrollment, the college will assign you a random PTC ID (P#) that is used to log into your PTC Pathway account. Your date of birth (MMDDYY) will be your temporary password. 10. Purchase TextbooksVisit the PTC Campus Shop on the Lex Walters Campus, shop online, or take advantage of selected book sale dates at the six County Centers. If you choose to shop online, you may pay for books and supplies with a credit card. If an account has been established at the college, you may also charge your purchases against your grant in aid.
