You are a transient student if you are pursuing a degree at another college or university but you choose to take some approved classes at Piedmont Tech. Transient students are not seeking degrees at Piedmont Tech and cannot receive financial aid. 1. Apply for AdmissionsFor timely processing of their enrollment, transient students MUST list your major as ‘transient’ when completing the admissions application. Select one of the following application methods:
2. Obtain a Transient Approval FormSee your advisor at your home institution to receive a Transient Approval Form. You and your advisor must ensure that you have met pre-requisites for the Piedmont Tech courses for which you will register. This approval is only valid for one semester and is your assurance that your home institution will accept the Piedmont Tech courses for credit. 3. Submit the Transient Approval FormSubmit the Transient Approval Form or letter by one of the following methods:

to register. 5. Pay TuitionLearn about tuition and fee information. After you register, you will receive information regarding your schedule and tuition. TechOnline financial aid students may be eligible to share their financial aid grant funds to pay for online courses at other technical colleges. Visit the financial aid office at your home college for information. 6. Complete Transcript Request FormComplete a PTC Transcript Release Form to ensure that your grade will be sent to your home institution at the end of the term. There is a charge for this service which you may pay at the business office at the time you pay for your tuition.
