TechNet courses are live courses that allow students based at colleges in the SCTechOnline Consortium to see and interact with the instructor and other students who are based at Piedmont Tech. All TechNet courses are taught from Room 136G on Piedmont Tech's Greenwood Campus. Because this format is delivered via the South Carolina Technical College System's TechNet system, these courses are called TechNet courses. Students enrolled in TechNet courses receive special permission from their home colleges to participate in courses delivered by other colleges in the group. These courses are treated as if they were taught by their home college. This allows students to use their local financial aid to pay for the course, and the course appears on the student's transcript as a course from their home college. Requesting TechOnline CoursesRegistering for SCTechOnline courses is a simple process! After you have registered in the normal way at your home college, you will be asked to visit the shared TechOnline Web site to search available courses. While you are there, create an account, enter your information, and select the courses that matche your registration at your home college. Return to the site later to see your student ID for the host college online course system that integrates with your interactive TechNet course. Your initial password will be your birthdate in the MMDDYY format. Course dates and times are controlled by the provider college and may not match your home college's schedule. Check closely to see the start and end dates, days and times. Vacation days may also be different from your home college. |
