Through SCTechOnline, five South Carolina technical colleges work together to provide a selection of over 200 online courses to students. TechOnline students receive special permission from their home colleges to participate in online courses delivered by other colleges in the group. These courses are treated as if they were taught by their home college. This allows students to use their local financial aid to pay for the course, and the course appears on the student's transcript as a course from their home college.
VERY IMPORTANT! Regular Internet access is absolutely necessary. The faster your computer and Internet connection, the better.
Requesting TechOnline Courses
Registering for TechOnline courses is a simple process! Visit the shared SC TechOnline Web site to search available courses. While you are there, create an account, enter your information, and select the courses that interest you. Return to the site later to see if your request has been approved by your home advisor and the provider college.
Colleges Participating in TechOnline
Northeastern Technical College, Spartanburg Community College (suspended participation for the current year), Williamsburg Technical College, and York Technical College join Piedmont Tech in the SC TechOnline consortium.
