The following grant programs are administered by the Federal Government and require completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).   For the 09-10 Award year, you must complete the 2009-2010 FAFSA.  This application of aid will cover the Fall 2009 - Summer 2010 terms. Federal Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant is the foundation of financial aid packages.  It is a program that provides grants for students attending college who have not previously received a baccalaureate degree.  Eligibility is based on the student's resources and is determined by a formula developed by the U.S. Department of Education. The maximum Pell award for 2009-2010 is $5350.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

FSEOG is a program from which students with exceptional financial need may obtain up to $4000 each year depending on financial need, the availability of FSEOG funds at Piedmont Technical College, and the amount of other aid received.  Award amounts range from $100 to $1,000 per year at PTC.
