Many scholarships are available to current students after they have completed 12 credit hours in their program major at Piedmont Technical College and have earned an acceptable GPA (Grade Point Average). A few scholarships are available to high school seniors. Most scholarships are based on academic achievement and financial need. More specific criteria are listed under each scholarship.

Abbeville Savings and Loan Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is available to an Abbeville or Greenwood resident majoring in Building Construction Technology.

Access & Equity Scholarships

This scholarship is available to a high school senior from each of the seven counties based on academic and financial need. Preference is given to those students who are actively involved in the Access and Equity program in their high school.

Alfred and Miriam Adams Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a Saluda County resident.  Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Allred Leadership Scholarships

Two scholarships are available to two high school seniors. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership.

Annie Lee Swygert Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a South Carolina resident based on academic achievement and financial need.

Aaron Industries Scholarship

Two scholarships are available to two Clinton High School seniors. Selection is based on financial need and academic achievement.

Automotive Technology Scholarship

Established 2009 with proceeds from the Wheels of Thunder car show. This scholarship is available to an Automotive Technology student with a GPA of 3.0 or greater, and financial need.

Bailey Foundation Scholarships

Scholarships are available to Laurens County students majoring in business technology. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

BCT Scholarships

This scholarship is available to Building Construction Technology majors based on academic achievement and financial need.

Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Center Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a student in the Surgical Technology major that is program ready or near program ready status, exhibiting academic achievement and financial need.

Charles Baumeister Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship has been established in memory of Charles Baumeister, a long-time faculty member of the college who also served as dean of the Business and Industrial Divisions and vice president for Educational Affairs. This scholarship is open to any full-time or part-time student with a 3.0 GPA.

Charles M. Cox Jr. Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a student majoring in Funeral Services who has maintained a minimum 2.0 grade average.

County Bank Scholarships

The County Bank provides two scholarships that are available to Greenwood County residents enrolled in the Business curriculum. Although normally available to rising seniors, entering freshmen are also eligible for these scholarships. Selection is made on the basis of scholastic record, financial need and faculty recommendations.

C. Y. Thomason Sr. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a student majoring in Building Construction Technology.

David Sherer Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to an Automotive Technology student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher who has financial need.

Derrick Scholars

Scholarships named for former Congressman Butler Derrick are available to students who are completing their first year of study in an associate's degree program. The recipients must have 3.5 GPAs and be in good standing in their programs of study.

Ernest W. Prewett Alumni Association Scholarships

The Piedmont Technical College Alumni Association has established a scholarship program to assist deserving students. These scholarships are based on academic achievement and need.

Foundation Scholarships

The Piedmont Technical College Foundation awards scholarships to an outstanding high school graduate from each of the college's supporting counties. Recipients of Foundation Scholarships are selected on the basis of academic achievement while in high school. This scholarship may be renewable for a second year.

Fuji Photo Film Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students in any of the following majors: Associate of Arts or Associate of Science; General Engineering Technology; Engineering Graphics Technology; Electronic Engineering Technology; Mechanical Engineering Technology; Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Technology; Industrial Electronics Technology; Machine Tool Technology; Office Systems Technology; Business; and Computer Technology. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership.

Greenwood Kiwanis Club Scholarship

The Greenwood Kiwanis Club has established a scholarship for students pursuing child care related programs. The scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Greenwood Rotary Club Scholarship

The Greenwood Rotary Club has established a scholarship to assist any Piedmont Technical College student. Available to second-year students in associate's degree programs, the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Greenwood Vocational Rehabilitation Advisory Board Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a full-time Human Services major with financial need. Additional criteria includes: residency in Greenwood, Abbeville, McCormick, or Saluda counties.

Gwen Hancock Scholarship

The Gwen Hancock Scholarship is available to majors in the Respiratory Care program in the seven county service region. The scholarship is based on academic achievement, leadership ability, and financial need.

H. Kelley Jones Scholarship

The H. Kelley Jones Scholarship was established by the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians.  This scholarship is available to a student enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program approved by the AVMAs. 

Henry Blohm Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a student who has exhibited academic achievement, leadership abilities, and financial need.

Lakelands Home Builders Association Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a Building Construction Technology student exhibiting academic achievement, and financial need.

Lakelands Orthopaedic Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a student in the Surgical Technology major, is program ready or near program ready status, exhibiting academic achievement and financial need.

Honeycutt Scholarship

Available to an Edgefield County student based on financial need and academic achievement.

J. E. S. Services HVAC Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a student majoring in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technology who has completed 12 hours in the HVAC curriculum and maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Jane B. Burgdorf Realtor Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a Cardiovascular Technology major and is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Jeanne Florence Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students based on financial need and academic achievement.

John W. Drummond Scholarship

This scholarship is available and is based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership ability.

Johnny Moore Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a Senior Radiologic Technology major with a minimum grade point average of 3.5, and must be "Limited Practice" eligible.

L. Ruple Harley, Sr. Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a Funeral Services major with academic achievement, leadership abilities, and financial need.

Laurens County Chamber Cecil Davenport Memorial Scholarships

Scholarships are available to Laurens County residents. Based on academic achievement, the scholarship may be renewable for a second year.

The Martha B. Williams Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available demonstrating leadership ability attributing character and good life skills and is based on financial need and academic achievement.

Medical Assisting Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a Medical Assisting major with at least a 3.0 GPA and is based on financial need and academic achievement.

The MJA Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is available to an Edgefield County high school senior based on financial need and academic achievement.

Nursing Scholarships

This scholarship is available for both LPN and ADN students with a proven academic success; GPA 3.0 or above with one readmission for circumstantial withdrawal while in good academic standing only; outstanding clinical performance as determined by clinical instructor; financial need and a rising senior.

Newberry Electric Cooperative Scholarships

Newberry Electric Cooperative awards scholarships to Newberry County student with top priority given to a student that uses services from Newberry Electric Cooperative, Inc. If there are no students that fit the above criteria then these scholarships can be awarded to other students from Newberry County. Open to students in any curriculum, the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Nora Wells Cooner Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a full-time student with a minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need.

Olly Garrison Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a returning adult student who is changing careers. Criteria include 3.0 GPA and offer an opportunity for renewal with satisfactory progress maintained.

Paul DeLoache Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a resident of Saluda County. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Pfizer/Capsugel Scholarship

Selection for this scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

These scholarships are generated through fund-raising of the Omega Chi Chapter. Scholarships are available to active PTK members.

Piedmont Partners Faculty/Staff Scholarships

These scholarships are available, and the criteria are academic achievement and financial need.

Professional Secretaries International Loutrelle Self Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a student in the Office Systems Technology program. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership ability.

PTC Golf Classic Scholarship

These scholarships are generated through a fund-raising golf tournament held each spring. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Scurry Foundation Scholarship

The Scurry Foundation contributes funds through the Piedmont Technical College Foundation to provide scholarships in varying amounts to worthy students. The recipients are selected on the basis of academic potential, financial need and availability of funds.

Taylor Foundation Scholarships

These scholarships will be available to Newberry County residents. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

The 40 and 8 Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a nursing major from Greenwood County.  Greenwood Voiture Locale 435, a support group of the American Legion that was established in 1920 by World War I veterans, annually funds a nursing scholarship.

Thurmond Scholars

Scholarships named for Senator Strom Thurmond are available to students displaying leadership ability, financial need, and a 3.5 GPA.

Veterinary Technician of Excellence Scholarship

Drs. Randy Basinger and Louise Burpee.  Husband and wife from Irmo, SC.  He is a surgeon and founder of SC Veterinary Specialists in Columbia, SC and she owns Dutch Fork Animal Hospital in Ballentine, SC.  This scholarship is available to a 2nd year student in the Veterinary Tech program; demonstrate academic excellence, professionalism, active participant in community and professional activities as a member of the veterinary tech club.  Can be awarded to a 2nd semester first year student if no 2nd year applied.

W. A. Klauber Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a Radiologic Technology student who has completed at least one semester in clinical. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.
