Piedmont Technical College participates with the SC State Jobs recruitment system for permanent FTE positions. To apply for a permanent full-time equivalent position, you must go to the state website, www.jobs.sc.gov, search for Piedmont Technical College and apply on-line. Only on-line applications for vacancies listed on our website will be accepted. Vacancies will be listed here on our website as well as a complete listing at www.jobs.sc.gov. We no longer accept paper applications, emailed applications, or faxed applications for permanent vacancies. General Application Procedures
When qualified applicants are completing the State of SC Employment Application on-line at www.jobs.sc.gov for permanent FTE vacant positions, they must either cut and paste, or attach documents that include a cover letter, a current resume and copies (that have been scanned) of transcripts to the application. Original transcripts will be required if called upon for an interview. Original transcripts can be mailed to Human Resources, P.O. Box 1467, Greenwood, SC 29648. Transcripts mailed to PTC will be matched with an on-line application.

Piedmont Technical College invites applications for the position of a new statewide Cardiovascular Technician Program Instructor. The position entails classroom and lab instruction, development of clinical sites for the program, administrative duties, and advisement duties. Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor degree in a Health Related discipline, preferential consideration for a master’s degree. Applicants must be registered in invasive cardiology or registry eligible. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in invasive cardiology. Position is open until filled. Welding Technology Instructor State Class Code UG70 Vacancy # 10009
Piedmont Technical College invites applications for the position of full-time instructor for Welding Technology. The college is a public two-year college dedicated to successful student learning by providing multiple learning options. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Welding courses to a diverse student body. Additional duties include student advisement, industrial visits and consultation, scheduling and delivery of courses, community and college service, and professional development. This full-time position begins in the spring semester 2010. A bachelor’s degree in related discipline; or an associate’s degree and demonstrated competencies required. Teaching experience preferred. AWS certification and other welding certifications would be desirable. Five (5) years of work related experience required. Preference will be given to candidates based upon the following selection criteria:
1. Teaching experience, especially at the community and technical college level. 2. Relevant work experience and expertise in the Welding field. 3. Planning and leadership skills. 4. Commitment to improving student learning by the integration of new technology, learning styles, and other innovative approaches to classroom instruction and curriculum design. 5. Understanding and commitment to the educational philosophy of the public two-year technical/community college. 6. Willingness to work within a flexible teaching schedule (i.e., day, evening) and at varied sites (i.e., on-campus, off campus). 7. Willingness to participate in multiple-disciplinary instructional teams. 8. Commitment to interact with students outside the classroom setting as an instructor and an academic advisor. 9. Demonstration of various welding procedures and processes.

PART-TIME FACULTY and TUTOR POSITIONS
Piedmont Technical College, a public two year college, is accepting applications for part time instructors to teach courses in the following areas at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day, evening and weekends.
American Government: Master’s degree in Political Science or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in political science required.
Biology: Master's degree in Biology or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology required.
English: Master's degree in English or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in English required.
Horticulture: Masters in Horticulture preferred, or B.S. in Horticulture + 5 years relevant work experience. Looking for energetic, creative horticulturist willing to bring experience and knowledge to a diverse program. The horticulture department combines classroom instruction with labs utilizing the latest hands-on techniques.
LPN's in Continuing ED: needed to assist with skills lab and clinical in the Nursing Assistant Program. Must have one year nursing home experience caring for the elderly or caring for the chronically ill of any age. Flexibility to work in multiple counties required.
