PTC Awards Scholarships at Luncheon

Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.

 

 

Two Piedmont Technical College students recently received the Butler Derrick Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured from left are Rebecca Byington, an associate degree nursing student from Greenwood and presenter Cathy Miller. Not pictured is Barbara Hebel, a cardiovascular technology student from Greenwood. The scholarship, named for Congressman Butler Derrick, is awarded annually to associate degree students in high academic standing.

 

 

 

 

Two Piedmont Technical College students received the Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Center Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Brian Knight, an associate degree nursing student from Greenwood; presenter Amy Barnes; and Kayla Pennington, a practical nursing student from Clinton.  The scholarship is awarded annually to surgical technology students or nursing students who are program ready or near program ready, exhibiting academic achievement and financial need.

 

 

Two Piedmont Technical College students recently received the Gwen Hancock Memorial Scholarship at the annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, family member Rhett Hancock; Northelyn Verdeflor, a respiratory care student from Greenwood; Kristi Satterfield, a respiratory care student from Abbeville; and family member Gene Hancock. Awarded annually to respiratory care majors, the scholarship is based on academic achievement, leadership ability and financial need.  Gene Hancock is a graduate of PTC’s first evening program and was the college’s first alumni association president.

 

 

Piedmont Technical College administrative office technology student and Ninety Six resident Teshana Hackett was recently awarded the Loutrelle Self Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon, presented by donor Nina Coursey. The award is presented to an administrative office technology major who displays academic achievement, financial need and leadership ability.

 

 

 

 

Piedmont Technical College student and Greenwood resident Karen Tisdale (right) was recently awarded the John W. Drummond Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Tisdale, an associate degree nursing student, is congratulated by Gus Burgdorf (right), PTC Foundation development associate. The scholarship is awarded annually and is based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership ability.

Pictured are, from left, Sherry Rooney, a practical nursing student from Newberry; Donna Foster, scholarship committee member; and Helen Renee Arnold, an associate degree nursing student from Whitmire. The scholarship is awarded annually to a Newberry County resident and is based on academic achievement and financial need.
