Scholarship Donors, Recipients Honored at Luncheon

Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.

 

 

Two Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Allred Leadership Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Peter Manning, Area Commissioner from Greenwood; Kaitlyn Brock, a cardiovascular technology student from Abbeville; Katelyn Lackey, an associate degree nursing student from Greenwood; and Dr. Ray Brooks, president of PTC. The scholarship is awarded annually to two high school seniors, based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership.

 

 

 

 

Six Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the PTC Foundation Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Whitney Pough, an associate degree nursing student from Batesburg; Len Bornemann, PTC Foundation vice chairman; Erin Fricks, a radiologic technology student from Ware Shoals; and Jorge Ortega, mechanical engineering technology student from Abbeville. Not pictured are Stephanie Aviles, a pharmacy technology student from Greenwood; John Bertzfield Jr., a general education student from Plum Branch; and Rachel Simmons, an associate in science student from Little Mountain. The scholarships are awarded to an outstanding high school graduate from each of the college's supporting counties based of academic achievement while in high school.

Piedmont Technical College student and Troy resident Lucy Wetzel (right) was recently awarded the Henry Blohm Leadership Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Wetzel, a diversified agriculture student, is pictured with Gus Burgdorf, PTC Foundation development associate. The scholarship is available to a student who has exhibited academic achievement, leadership abilities and financial need.

 

 

 

 

Two Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Fujifilm Manufacturing Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Joshua Cooper, an associate in arts student from Greenwood; Lisa Crawford, scholarship committee member; and Anthony King, a mechanical engineering technology student from Greenwood. The scholarship is based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership.

 

 

 

 

Piedmont Technical College student and associate degree nursing student April Smith of Newberry recently received the Newberry Electric Cooperative Scholarship. Awarded annually to first and second-year students from Newberry County, the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.

 

Piedmont Technical College associate degree nursing student and McCormick resident Keyiona Hill recently received the Dr. Sandra Calliham Scholarship. This scholarship is available to any senior graduating from McCormick High School that is pursuing a degree in (1) education or (2) health care field that shows a financial need, academic achievement and motivation to learn.
