Scholarship Luncheon Recognizes Donors, Recipients

Scholarships were presented to students and donors were recognized at the recent scholarship luncheon.

 

 

Nora Wells Cooner ScholarshipTwo Piedmont Technical College students received the Nora Wells Cooner Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Angela Wald, a radiologic technology student from Hodges; Jo Bartley, scholarship donor and daughter of the late Nora Wells Cooner; Derrell Bartley of the family; and Taylor Alexander, a business major from Greenwood. The scholarship is awarded annually to full-time students with a minimum 2.5 grade point average and is based on financial need.

 

 

 

NWTF Golf ScholarshipPiedmont Technical College student and Chapin resident Diana Bussard (right) was recently awarded the National Wild Turkey Federation PTC Golf Classic Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Bussard, an accounting student, is congratulated by Dr. Ray Brooks, PTC president. The scholarship is funded through an annual golf tournament held each spring and selection is based on academic achievement and financial need. 

 

 

 

 

 

Legacy of Learning ScholarshipPiedmont Technical College student and Lexington resident Erik Richardson (left) was recently awarded the “Legacy of Learning” Water Environment Association of SC Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Richardson, a horticulture student, is congratulated by Brenda Brooks, scholarship committee member. The scholarships is awarded to a student pursuing an associate degree related to the environment who is a resident of South Carolina, full-time or part-time with a grade point average not less than 3.0.

 

 

 

 

Healing Hands ScholarshipThree Piedmont Technical College massage therapy students were recently awarded the Healing Hands Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. The scholarship is awarded annually based on academic achievement, leadership ability and financial need to Massage Therapy majors.

 

 

 

 

 

Ernest Prewett ScholarshipTwo Piedmont Technical College students recently received the Ernest W. Prewett Alumni Association Scholarship Award. Pictured are, from left, Katrice Broadwater, a respiratory care student from North Augusta; Ernest Prewett, former executive assistant to the president at PTC; and Kendra Overholt, an Associate in Arts student from Due West. Established by the Piedmont Technical College Alumni Association, this scholarship is based on academic achievement and need.

 

 

 

 

 

Jane Burgdorf ScholarshipPiedmont Technical College student and Anderson resident Flora Hunter, right, received the Jane Burgdorf Realtor Cardiovascular Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Hunter, a cardiovascular technology student, is congratulated by Jane Burgdorf. The scholarship is awarded annually to a cardiovascular technology student and is based on academic achievement. 

 

 

 

 

 

Two Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Access and Equity Scholarship. Recipients were Rachel Hall, a patient care technician student from Trenton, and Victoria Tatum, an associate degree nursing student from Calhoun Falls. Awarded annually, the scholarship is based on academic standing, volunteerism and faculty and advisor recommendations.
