Duties

Graduates in this field may be required to:

  • transfer human remains from the place of death to the funeral home

  • sanitize, disinfect, temporarily preserve and restore human body remains

  • meet with a family and make funeral arrangements

Working Conditions

  • work in funeral home / mortuary, hospital pathology lab

  • work with deceased persons who have contagious diseases

  • lifting (mechanical devices can be used to help with lifting)

  • work unsupervised
