At Piedmont Technical College’s recent summer commencement exercises, outstanding students were honored for academic achievement as County Award Winners.
The presidents of Piedmont Technical College (PTC) and Lander University today signed a series of articulation agreements that will enhance the transfer process for qualified PTC graduates from PTC to Lander. The agreements apply to PTC graduates with an associate in applied science (AAS) degree in business administration (with various concentrations) who wish to continue their studies toward a bachelor of applied science (BAS) or bachelor of science (BS) in business administration (with various concentrations) at Lander.
The Piedmont Technical College (PTC) Foundation recently welcomed Lauren Malone to its board of directors. Malone is the human resources manager at Teijin Carbon Fibers, Inc.
The Piedmont Technical College (PTC) Economic Development and Continuing Education Division recently conducted a Manufacturing Basic Skills class at the Newberry Adult Learning Center. Participants received training in teamwork as well as resume writing and interviewing. Those who successfully completed the certification assessments also received OSHA 10 General Industry, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and Forklift certifications during the weeklong training.
Piedmont Technical College (PTC) will hold an “Instant Admission Day” for the fall semester Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, at the Lex Walters Campus-Greenwood Enrollment Center. Participants can get accepted on the spot and begin moving closer to their career goals.
Members of the PL Developments Warehouse and Logistics team recently completed the SC Supply Chain Logistics Certification Course at Piedmont Technical College’s Economic Development and Continuing Education Division. The 10-week course was offered two nights a week from 5-9 p.m. through a live virtual format.

Less known, perhaps, is how the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation is supporting PTC nursing students in their educational experience. Two PTC nursing students each recently were named recipients of $1,000 scholarships from the Self Foundation.

Following up with these students after they are in college, however, is really where the rubber meets the road with regard to their future success. For this reason, a new staff position recently was created by TGP and its partner, Piedmont Technical College (PTC), to help ensure Promise students progress successfully through their college programs and are connected with quality employment opportunities after graduation.
