At its annual state convention on June 7, the SC Future Farmers of America (FFA) presented its highest administrator, teacher, or community member award — the FFA Honorary State Degree — to Piedmont Technical College (PTC) Horticulture and Agriculture Department Head Daniel Greenwell. Greenwell was among 17 individual FFA state members recognized with the honor at a gala ceremony in Greenville.
At Piedmont Technical College’s recent spring commencement exercises, outstanding students were honored for academic achievement as County Award Winners.
“I’ll bet that two out of three of you will be doing something different within 10 years, something you had not planned on doing,” retired Capsugel executive Ron Millender told some 415 new Piedmont Technical College (PTC) graduates at their commencement exercises on May 4, 2023. “Being in the right place at the right time is important, but being prepared is critical. … My whole career has been about being ready for that next opportunity.”
Newberry College and Piedmont Technical College are partnering to streamline degree completion in the fields of early education and graphic design. The agreements were announced May 18 at a signing ceremony on the Newberry College campus. The partnership will enable Piedmont Tech graduates to transfer a greater number of credits to Newberry College, allowing them to complete their bachelor's degrees in as few as four semesters. These are often called “2+2” completion programs, in which students can earn their associate and bachelor's degrees each in two years.

Officials from Eaton Corporation recently visited the Greenwood campus of Piedmont Technical College (PTC) to present a check for $20,000 to the PTC Foundation specifically to support the college’s engineering technology programs.
