The need for cybersecurity talent is growing as organizations struggle to find balance in the post-COVID business landscape. Many organizations lost their equilibrium as they rapidly adopted new technologies during the height of the pandemic. Cybersecurity specialists can help organizations manage and improve information security. This course focuses on the use of the most popular forensics tools and provides specific guidance on dealing with civil and criminal matters relating to the law and technology. With specific focus on social media, mobile, and cloud-based crimes and forensic tools used to analyze them. Prerequisites: Basic Windows user skills and a fundamental understanding of computer and networking concepts, CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications (or equivalent knowledge), and six to nine months' experience in networking, including configuring security parameters, are strongly recommended. To be successful, students should possess knowledge of: (1) The fundamental building blocks that form a modern network, such as protocols, media, topologies, and hardware. (2) Knowledge of the most important concepts in contemporary networking, such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, wireless transmission, virtual networks, security, and troubleshooting. (3) Installing, deploying, configuring, checking, and keeping systems that run Microsoft Windows OS. Installation, system images, application, networking, resource allocation, mobile computing, monitoring, maintenance, backup, and recovery topics are included. (4) Basic computer components, set up a basic workstation, conduct basic software installation, set up basic network connectivity, find compatibility issues, and identify/prevent basic security risks.
