Requirements:

Education High School Diploma or equivalent Licenses. Current state issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (Required).  Ability to work on-call weekends, nights and holidays rotation. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all the physical requirements of the job, lift and carry up to 100 lbs., push/pull up to 300lbs. and use equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

 Ability to drive in hazardous, heavy traffic, and weather conditions. Basic computer skills required.

Job Description:

This is an on call, part-time, night shift (5.30pm-8.30am) position requiring the physical capability to lift in order to assist with transfer of deceased from place of death. It also requires a professional and compassionate demeanor. 

Upon receiving a service request via phone, responds to the pick-up location, transfers the decedent from place of death into the transfer vehicle (hearse), and transport the decedent from place of death to our funeral home. 

Safely drives company owned professional vehicles to perform “first call” transfers of deceased in accordance with local and state laws as well as company policies and procedures. 

 

Has a cellular device, to retrieve and accept calls for service. 

 

For home transfers, courteously and professionally interacts with bereaved family members; exhibits sensitivity to environment; minimizes conversation. 

 

Enters deceased event information into proprietary software according to company procedures. 

 

Vehicle Maintenance Washes, vacuums, and cleans vehicles ensuring vehicle is presentable. Fuels vehicles as necessary. 

 

Follows safety guidelines and expenditure processes. Maintains company provided personal protective and removal supplies in vehicles including cleaning products. Identifies vehicle engine or operating issues to management, drives vehicles for repair or inspection.

Schedule:
Flexible but to include weekends and holidays on a rotation basis with other team-mates.
