We are excited to announce a significant schedule change here at our esteemed EMS organization, designed to enhance work-life balance and optimize your professional opportunities for all our valued EMTs and Paramedics. As we continually strive to provide the highest standard of care to our community, we understand the importance of supporting our dedicated team members in achieving a fulfilling career while maintaining personal well-being. We recognize the diverse needs and commitments you may have outside of work, and this new approach seeks to accommodate those factors while ensuring optimal patient care.

Our new schedule, ERS (Extended Responder Schedule)will be a 24/48/24/96 schedule. With this schedule you will have a rotation of working one 24-hour shift, then follow that with 48 hours off. You will then work another 24 hours followed by 96 hours off. This will rotate throughout the year allowing you to plan your life around the critical role you play in Greenwood County EMS.

At our core, we are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment, where every member of our team feels valued and respected. This schedule change is just one of the many steps we are taking to ensure the welfare of our staff and the excellence of our services. This new schedule will be implemented once all positions are filled for Greenwood County EMS. We have limited positions opening for EMTs and Paramedics for this new schedule change. Our tentative implementation date will be October 2023.
