Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with fundamental knowledge of the coordination and supervision of departments
  • Knowledge in the fields of machining and casting of aluminum parts
  • Experience in the supervision and organization of personnel
  • Knowledge of restructuring concepts for production facilities and administration
  • 3+ years experience in the automotive industry and associated technical and quality requirements
  • Must have valid drivers license
  • Must have worked at least 24 consecutive months in a manufacturing facility
  • German language skills preferred (written and oral)
  • Metric drawing reading skills required

Toolmaker apprenticeship preferred

Job Description:
  • Preparation of operation schedules and coordination of setting up process to ensure production, delivery, and quality meets all expectations
  • Develops machining process, designs fixtures and machining tools
  • Responsible for the achievement of company goals regarding quality and productivity.  This includes tracking and monitoring charts and developing, and following through with necessary action plans
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Responsible for the 5S system within the engineering area
  • Assures compliance with approved methods and quality standards
  • Set up of production equipment and production cells to meet customer timing and quality expectations
  • Training of operators on existing and new production systems
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
  • Set up, daily inspection, and adjustments on machines, fixtures, and tools
  • Overall equipment effectiveness, housekeeping, scrap, and overtime through proper maintenance of the equipment and building

Coordination of installation of production equipment and production cells to meet customer timing and quality expectations.

  • Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction
  • Implementation of 5S program in Tool Shop area
  • Works with other departments such as Materials, Quality Assurance, Sales, Purchasing, etc.
  • Supports planning of the layout of equipment, workflow, manufacturing methods, and workforce utilization

Tasks of process technician machining (PT)      

  • Participation in the FMEA
  • Participation in the technical meetings after the sampling
  • Updating and provision of sampling documents
  • Informing the Project Manager upon the start of a sampling (by telephone or by e-mail)
  • Conducting of samplings
  • Create the tool lists and CNC data
  • Definition of the layout of workplace (position of packaging, leakage testing, castings, finished parts, etc.)
  • Conducting of process qualification in cooperation with the Project Manager and Quality planner.
  • Participation in the project kick-off for new projects
  • Planning and moderation of the meeting to new machining concept
  • Preparation of documents relating to the design of fixtures, tools etc. and sending to supplier
  • Planning and moderation of all necessary meetings for the design of fixtures, tools, leakage tester, etc. for new projects (tool design approvals, collision etc.)
  • Organization of the overall technical and chronological coordination (time of design approval) with the suppliers in the project phase (excluding cost/schedule variances caused by Alupress or supplier (in case of that, immediate informing of Project Manager)
  • Planning and realization of the approval at the supplier
  • Checking of the completeness of documentation (3D, 2D-drawing, spare part list, manual, etc.) and archiving in the DMS
  • Administration of the tool drawings and documents
  • Participation in the pre-sampling meeting

Tasks Technical Side Engineer

  • Conception, planning and realization of processes, tools and manufacturing facilities, taking into account aspects of component characteristics, costs, capacity and quality
  • Development of specifications for the procurement of tools, machines and production tools and their inspection/start-up, taking into account the Q-requirements (ppm Rate, process feasibility etc.) and the budgeted costs
  • Development of specifications for the procurement of test equipment both for the series and for the pre-series, taking into account capacity requirements
  • Definition of special characteristics for the FMEA
  • Participation in the project kick-off
  • Development of specifications and offer requests (regarding new equipment) for the procurement of the project context taking into account the quality demands and the budgeted costs.
  • Producing the Invest request
  • Presenting the invest request in the corresponding meeting
  • Communication with the supplier within the project
  • Definition of the hall layout
  • Searching and selecting of suppliers in coordination with the PL and the purchasing
  • Technical clearances and coordination with the supplier
  • Cooperation in the layout planning with the lean manager/PuL (see project organization)
  • Responsible for the carrying out of the inspection of the project task at the supplier.
  • Responsible for the carrying out of the final inspection of the project task at Alupress.
