Applicants must be on track to complete Mechatronics Associates degree by Dec 2022 to be considered for position

Job Description:

This Technician Apprentice position is located at the Johnston Plant in Johnston, SC and will report to the Engineering Services Engineer.  The Johnston Plant has a diverse range of control systems on its production machinery, including some smaller relay logic systems, to PLC's.  Machinery drives range from modern networked AC inverters, Smart Networked AC Inverters, Networked Servo Drives, and DC Drives.

The Technician Apprentice is responsible for learning to perform general and preventive maintenance on the electrical systems on the equipment, trouble shooting, calibrating, and servicing electrical systems and sensors.

Specific Responsibilities:

•Assist other engineering associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order.

•Assist with repairing breakdowns

•Complete work that is required in department.

•Reinstall guards and safety equipment correctly after completion of any work.

•Replace and repair worn parts

•Work on D.C. / A.C. motors, breakers and other equipment switches.

•Work with analog and digital voltage and current signals

•Work on exhaust fan and motors

•Read electrical drawings and work on electrical components on machinery.

•Be able to work in a hot temperature environment

•Participate in the safety process

 

Schedule:
Schedule will vary but will be approximately 20 to 25 hours per week.
