Job Description:

You will operate manual presses, shear and various machines in the manufacture of ferrous and non-ferrous material; cut off, punch, drill and tap; run press brakes after the press brake has been set-up by a higher coded employee and/or assist higher coded employees while bending heavy or large parts on press brake; assist in gathering all items, welded and single pieces, by shop order and monitor their location through the weld and paint areas, then deliver to proper work centers; work to established procedures, manufacturing information, drawings, blue prints, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision or engineering; give assistance as needed to entire steel shop which may include drawing retrieval, technical assistance (which includes MI reading, drawing interpretation, COM list generation, and manual work order generation); with guidance of Fabrication Tech ?A? or ?B? operate heavy machinery, which may include weidamatics, optishear, band, saws, and drill presses; use overhead cranes as needed; collect all parts to be plated and assure that proper quantities are delivered to the storeroom; regularly lifting up to 50 lbs; pulling, pushing loads that weigh up to 100 lbs; infrequently, set up hard tooling for punch press area when die setter is not available; run first part and inspect for conformance; set up drill press area to drill, tap, and countersink parts; perform preventative maintenance on tooling and machinery; run single punch Whitney set up by others for holes not punched by hard tooling or drill fixture and operate punch press for production; perform SPC duties daily, including daily charting of all machines and creating designed experiments for problems due to non-conforming materials; assist lower coded operators or perform tasks of lower coded positions; observe all safety and hygiene requirements as specified or directed; maintain a clean, orderly and safe workplace; employees are expected to comply with the Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines.
