1. Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in maintenance field in a manufacturing environment
2. Working knowledge of chemical manufacturing equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Generally, 5% of time at desk / 95% of time in office and plant areas, walking and standing
2. Able to lift at least 50 pounds
3. No known sustained repetitive activities
4. This job requires a person to be able to wear respiratory protection
5. This job requires a person to be able to work in confined spaces
6. Ability to climb stairs, lift, use hand tools, bend and stoop

Job Description:

This position requires an employee to inspect, maintain, repair, and build machinery, physical structures, forklifts, pipe fittings, electrical components, and instrumentation in a commercial and industrial environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Essential Job Tasks

1. Understand basic electrical control work
2. Troubleshoot high voltage circuits
3. Install rigid conduit
4. Rebuild pumps per manufacturers specifications
5. Perform routine mechanical maintenance
6. Assist with coordination of plant projects and start-ups as needed
7. Participate in development of Preventative Maintenance Program
8. Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) rounds according to schedule
9. Conduct routine inspection and test machinery for safe and proper function
10. Work with Production and EHS departments to identify and repair equipment as needed
11. Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts
12. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and seals
13. Install and repair electrical components to include transformers, starters, wiring, and motors
14. Install and repair instrumentation components to include valves, flow meters, thermocouples, pressure switches, and controllers
15. Lay out, assemble, and install piping systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
16. Maintain physical plant structures
17. Perform other maintenance work as requested
18. Availability to be On Call on a rotating weekly schedule

Other Duties

1. Perform other duties as assigned

Safety

1. Understand and follow all safety rules
2. Keep work areas clean to eliminate re-occurring housekeeping issues
3. Communicate safety needs of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or equipment changes to Supervisor
4. Work on assigned safety improvement projects
5. Report observations of unsafe work habits and conditions for immediate remediation
6. Attend weekly Departmental and Company Safety Meetings

Personnel

1. Understand importance of dependability and good attendance with regard to size of department and scope of work assigned
2. Interact effectively with all departments and employees to facilitate accomplishment of responsibilities
3. Identify own training needs and work with Maintenance Supervisor to schedule and complete training

M-F, 7am-4pm, On call every 3 weeks
