A 10th grade education and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). (Note): This position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License. However, applicants without a Class A Commercial Driver’s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class A Commercial Driver’s License are available.
Class A Commercial Driver’s License must be attained within six (6 months) of placement in the position.
Performs routine duties to repair and maintain vehicles and equipment for Sumter Maintenance.Answers service calls to repair vehicles and equipment. Performs clean-up after repairs on vehicles and equipment. Assists mechanics by laying out tools, equipment, and materials needed to perform vehicle preventive maintenance schedules. Maintains a safe and clean work area to ensure all work is done in compliance with OSHA and DHEC regulations. Assists with picking up parts. Works during inclement and hazardous weather to include working in other counties if needed. Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
