Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Operates combination tractor mowers (sickle/rotary) in cutting right-of-way and shoulders.Operates boom mowers, tilting frame slope mowers and bat wing mowers. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public, and equipment. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance tasks as clearing right-of-way, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repair to bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/crossline pipes. Operates tandem ten-wheel dump truck, 5 yard standard dump truck, and flatbed truck for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials, and debris. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Trains to operate heavier equipment (combination front-end loader and backhoe, asphalt distributor, and tractor trailer. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as outlined in equipment specification. Operates standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and/or sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle/equipment inspection. Operates chainsaw in the removal of trees from the right-of-way.

FTE - Full-Time, Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
