Master's degree with at least five years of related experience; or a satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position duties. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history.
Broad knowledge of federal financial aid programs and record keeping requirements is essential. Knowledge of higher education processes, supervisory and personnel practices, communication techniques, and software programs is desired, as is a general knowledge of accounting practices, data processing, and computer applications. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, operate in a challenging and stressful environment, as well as work independently to meet deadlines.
The Division of Enrollment and Access Management is charged with efforts surrounding the recruitment, enrollment, matriculation, and successful persistence of students at Lander University. The Director of Student Financial Aid is responsible for administering all processes and records to support all federal, state, local, and institutional financial aid and scholarship programs at the University. The Director reports to the Vice President of Enrollment and Access Management.
