A bachelor's degree in engineering and two (2) years of entry-level engineering work
experience; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and four (4) years of entry-level engineering work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.

Job Description:

Prepares daily dairies, monthly construction estimates, and final plans on construction projects.Performs computer work as necessary. Reviews reports, estimates, and final plans produced by subordinates. Supervises inspectors in all phases of highway and bridge construction projects.Conducts sampling and testing on all projects as necessary. Assists the Resident Construction Engineer in the coordination of all work performed to make ensure all construction projects are covered by the appropriate personnel. Performs inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with SCDOT plans and specifications. Assists in the coordination of all work performed by utility companies for relocation of water, gas, sewer, electricity, fiber optic communications, and cable television. Performs duties of the Resident Construction Engineer in the absence of the Resident Construction Engineer. Meets with the general public, contractor personnel, utility company representatives, and city and county officials as necessary representing the Department. Performs other duties as assigned by Resident Construction Engineer. Coordinates with the lab to clear all estimates discrepancies in site manager in a timely manner.
