Opening for a Full-Time Landscape Maintenance position. This is for the residential property of the owners of the company. Residence is located in Okatie, SC (Beaufort County), which is in between Beaufort & Bluffton, near Highway 170.
This job is NOT just a mow & blow weekly task as typically found at golf courses and large gated communities. It requires someone with a horticulture background and/or degree and who understands the proper pruning of shrubs and pesticide usage.
- Mow lawn
- Blow: covered porches, decks, walkways, HVAC enclosures, gravel paths and driveway
- Edge stepping stones and brick to turf edges with pole shears (hedge clippers on a long pole)
- Fertilize turf, shrubs and flowers using recommended horticultural products and frequency
- Weed control of lawns, woodland areas, driveway and walks. Hand weed flower and shrub beds.
- Prune shrubs, trellis vines and periodically remove dead palm fronds
- Dead head: vitex, agapanthus, camellias, hydrangeas, roses
- Treat plant diseases on small shrubs and turf as needed
- Spray liquid fence 1 x weekly to all plants frequented by deer (roses, lirope, hydrangeas, pittasporum and trellis plants)
- Pick up fallen limbs and branches
- Dispose of all cut, broken and dead material off site
- Irrigation: check, adjust for proper coverage and perform minor repairs. Coordinate major repairs.
- Apply mulch as needed (to be decided by property owner)
- Plant new shrubs, flowers, etc., (per property owners instructions)
- Other miscellaneous maintenance tasks that may be needed by owners
