Requirements:

You will need to have a High School Diploma or G.E.D required; post-secondary education a plus; solid work history and excellent attendance; experience operating combustible atmospheric furnaces and generators a plus; ability to use a Windows based PC operating system; ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints; willing to work off shifts as required; able to work in a non-climate controlled environment; able to lift materials and fixtures up to forty pounds; must be able to communicate with teammates ensuring all hours of operations are manned.

Job Description:

The Heat Treat Technician is responsible for the Heat Treating of components, while delivering excellence to our customers and meeting assigned deadlines. The Heat Treat Technician will ensure that production is managed in as efficient and safe manner with the highest quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This individual will provide assistance in other machining departments as needed; ultimately helping the facility to achieve its business level and strategic goals, utilizing Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to drive continuous improvements. You will need to be able to operate heat treating furnaces in a safe manner ensuring all operating parameters are correctly set and maintained using both automatic and manual controls. Build heat treating loads, charge and unload the furnaces, break down loads and move material to next operation; properly receive materials in the department ensuring the correct identification of the parts and input the appropriate data into the heat treating SCADA system; organize the work in queue to provide the most efficient scheduling of the heat treating furnaces; participate as a team member of the department to facilitate effective communication, continuous learning, respect for all employees, shared 5S duties and overall department organization; maintain department records through the use of the SCADA system, metallurgical lab, and inspection of the heat treated components; develop and maintain a close working relationship with various facility groups including, but not limited to, Design Engineering, material planners, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality personnel to support the facility?s overall goals; daily use of the computer based SCADA system to select heat treating furnace cycles, acknowledge system alarms; perform daily and weekly Total Productive Management duties with strict adherence to schedules, procedures and safety; organize and maintain department supplies; willing to work any shift as required, be ?on call? and need little supervision.
