This position assists the IT/TowerNet Security Manager in providing information technology (IT) security services for ETV's broadcast network IT operations through control and monitoring of the Network Telecommunications Center located in Columbia and regional towers and transmitters located throughout the state of South Carolina.
Operates a statewide Asynchronous Transfer Mode wide area network (WAN) in support of a broadcast environment that includes radio, television and ancillary services. Deploys custom applications for remote command and control of various networked equipment.
Monitors tower security services to ensure emergency communications are provided to the citizens of South Carolina through television and radio by broadcasting emergency alerts issued by NOAA, State Emergency Management Division or local law enforcement agencies.
Troubleshoots and provides services in areas where broadcast network IT operations intersects with ETV's overall IT operations.
Assists with emergency preparedness drills, regular testing and monitoring of equipment, daily monitoring through Master Control, monthly review and evaluation of Dashboard data on equipment discrepancy reports
