POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs a variety of duties and special assignments to assist all fabricating departments in establishing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes and to assist in developing and estimating prototype products and/or attachments and modifications to existing products. Job duties include off-line and on-line programming of CNC Mils, punching, and bending equipment. Problem solving and root cause determination using precision measurement equipment and techniques. Maintaining department supplies and tools. Drive the department 6S program, continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Perform and document stamping die and machine tool PM (preventive maintenance) requirements. Conduct onboard training and forklift certification of new employees company wide. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma plus 2 years technical school training required. 3-5 years work experience working with operating and setting metal fabricating equipment, CNC milling, CNC turning, and CNC punching also required. Other skills required: blueprint reading, computer usage, mechanical drawing, and CAD/CAM software. Proficiency with measurement equipment including digital height gauges, calipers, micrometers.
