Metrology Specialist

The metrologies specialist is responsible for maintaining the systems necessary to convert data from traditional metrology equipment and the CT scanner into dimensional reports for the purpose of dimensional disposition by AQP?s and product engineering. Duties include traditional measurement (including optical measurement, CMM, and hand held tools), setup and operation of CT scanner, development of part specific programming, selection of best methods for dimensional analysis, working with product development teams to utilize these data for dimensional disposition, and failure analysis.
1. Perform metrology inspection via CT Scanning, CMM programming, or optical inspection as assigned, and fully manage incoming workload to meet the needs of our internal customers.
2. Analyze dimensional results to give feedback to the product team.
3. Set up dimensional inspection plans and perform datum alignments on CAD models.
4. Convert scan data to applicable format for dimensional analysis.
5. Create, execute, and provide feedback for GR&R, MSA, correlation studies and capability studies.
6. Evaluate drawing to determine the best method to measure a part and work with and provide feedback to engineering.
7. Evaluate and select best methods to convey dimensional differences visually, perform sectioning, measurements and GD&T.
8. Develop CT related knowledge base, participate in the review of results with engineering and quality departments, and create best practices for the dimensional disposition process.
9. Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
