1. Associate degree plus equivalent to 2-4 years related production control experience
Plan and implement production schedules within the framework of master schedule. a. Schedule work orders within the guidelines of a production plan to create, update, and maintain the master schedule production level. b. Use established production control principles and scheduling techniques to provide efficient plant operation and the desired level of customer service. c. Coordinate the implementation of engineering design changes into production utilizing existing inventories and minimizing scrap of obsolete materials. d. Use computer reports and other data to monitor inventory levels and manage the inventories to minimize inventory costs while maintaining production efficiencies and the desired level of customer service. e. Maintain the keying for returns after disposition of parts by engineering, including the repair and shipment of parts back to customers if needed. 2. Conduct transactions with purchasing in the procurement of certain production materials. a. Place orders for those materials and follow up to ensure compliance. Expedite procurement of materials when necessary. b. Arrange for the return of rejected material received from vendors. c. Coordinate the shipment of material for sub-contracted parts, including asking for material to be shipped direct to vendor. d. Arrange for the return of material sent to vendor after completion of parts, or damaged in transit. 3. Perform certain routine clerical and miscellaneous duties. a. Edit requisitions, receiving records, vendor acknowledgments, and invoices for accuracy and check out and correct errors. b. Prepare and maintain files, reports, records, etc. Maintain appropriate follow up files and expedite orders to achieve desired delivery dates.
