Requirements:

A high school diploma and six (6) years of progressively responsible field experience in geodetic surveying or related area; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid motor vehicle operator's license. May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends or holidays, and during inclement weather or other emergencies. Supervisory Experience is a preferred qualification.

Job Description:

Under general supervision of the Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer. Performs a variety of responsible technical duties for maintenance inspections, maintenance contracts, and activities within the rights-of-way to ensure compliance according to SCDOT standards and specifications. Ensures all contract information is properly entered in Highway Maintenance Management System (HMMS). Keeps a list of needs in the county for future contracts. Assists maintenance engineers in repaving packages to include entering data in Contract Bid Estimate System (CBES). Processes invoices based on inspection diaries. Inspects concrete and asphalt work to ensure that it is in compliance with SCDOT specifications. Performs other related duties as required.

FTE Full-Time: Monday - Friday (8:00 - 5:00)
