Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver?s License (CDL). Note: This position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver?s License. However, applicants without a Class A Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class A Commercial Driver?s License are available. Class A Commercial Driver?s License must be attained within six (6) of placement in the position.
May be required to work overtime, nighttime, and/or weekends during hazardous
weather or emergencies.

Job Description:

Train to operate 5-yard dump truck to haul materials to and from job site. Perform and maintain records of preventive maintenance on equipment. Load and unload signs and materials used for traffic control. Assist in setting up traffic control in accordance with the South Carolina Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Flag traffic in high and low volume areas during maintenance operations for the safety of crew, equipment, and motorists. Assist in paving driveways and turning lanes by leveling asphalt with rake or lube and using small roller to pack asphalt. Clear rights-of-way and remove dead trees by hand using axe, sling blade and chain
saw. Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
