Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL). (NOTE): This position requires a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,applicants without a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Trains in the operation of 5 and 10 yard dump trucks, for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance tasks as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges or guardrail, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to
protect workers, general public and equipment. Trains in the operation of standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Removes litter, debris and dead animals from roadway and right-of-ways. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Trains in the operation of chain saw in the removal of trees from right-of-way. Trains in the proper method of performing the pre-trip inspection on vehicle and equipment.
