Requirements:

10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivelance in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid commercial driver's license. (Note): This position requires a class A commercial driver's license. However, applicants without a class A commercial driver's license will be considered if no qualified applicants with a class A commercial driver's license are available. However, applicants are required to obtain a class A commercial driver's license within six (6) months of employment.
May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends or holidays, and during inclement weather or other emergencies.

Job Description:

Serves as member of the District Wide Bridge Crew. Performs skilled duties in the construction and maintenance of bridges such as welding, carpentry, concrete pouring and finishing, etc. Operates power tools. Assists with welding tasks to brace steel piles in the construction of bridges. Performs duties in carpentry to construct concrete forms for bridge caps, footings, retaining walls, etc. Trains to rigg crane for pile driving leads and setting bridge section, steel beams, deck panels, and barrier walls. Operates 5 yard dump truck and forklift to perform required duties. Performs duties necessary in the demolition of existing bridges. Trains to operate level to determine pile cut off elevations, ditch elevations, etc. Performs other related duties as needed.
