Job Description:

Supervises sign maintenance crews in the installation of new roadway signs and replacement of existing signs. Supervises the preventative maintenance of equipment to ensure routine maintenance schedule is followed and to monitor equipment use and wear to prolong equipment life. Performs other job related duties, including on call for after hour emergencies. Supervises and coordinates crew in the removal of snow and ice from roadways and storm damage.Supervises and ensures a safe work zone for maintenance crew, including flagging operations,wearing of safety equipment, and vehicle safety. Uses SCEIS and HMMS to maintain weekly and monthly reports, time sheets and cost records, order signs and maintain inventory of signs, and
rates employees according to the Employee Performance Management System. Supervises crews in placing crosswalks, stop bars, railroad crossing markings and miscellaneous pavement markings. Devises and implements schedule for work to be performed by maintenance crews which includes night sign inspection deficiencies, routine sign replacement plan, also handles district work orders in a timely manner as directed by supervision. Supervises the Pre-Trip inspection of vehicles and equipment, ensures that proper documentation is completed, and that deficiencies are noted and repaired.
