Scholarship Luncheon Held for Donors, Recipients
Piedmont Technical College recently held its annual Scholarship luncheon. The following recipients were among those honored:
Piedmont Technical College student and Greenwood resident David Fernandez (right) was recently granted the Abbeville Savings and Loan Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Fernandez, a building construction technology (BCT) major at Piedmont Technical College, is pictured with Chad Teague, a BCT instructor. Awarded annually to a BCT student from Abbeville or Greenwood, the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Two Piedmont Technical College students recently received the Gwen Hancock Memorial Scholarship at the annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Kelli McCormick, a respiratory care student from Leesville; Vanesse Anderson, a respiratory care student from McCormick; family members Rhett Hancock, Gene Hancock and Tara Stoddard. Awarded annually to Respiratory Care majors, the scholarship is based on academic achievement, leadership ability and financial need. Gene Hancock is a graduate of PTC’s first evening program and was the college’s first alumni association president.
Three Piedmont Technical College students received the Greenwood Rotary Club Scholarship at a recent scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Richard Whiting, Greenwood Rotary president; and Lyndia Belcher, a human services student from Hodges. Not pictured are Crystal Bartley, a criminal justice student from Greenwood and Tammy Walker, an associate in science student from Ninety Six. The scholarship is awarded annually to second-year students in associate degree programs and is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Piedmont Technical College student and Greenwood resident Jessica Cobb (left) was recently awarded the Medical Assisting Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Cobb is congratulated by Debbie McCallum (right), program coordinator and instructor for Medical Assisting. The scholarship is awarded annually to a Medical Assisting student with a minimum 3.0 grade point average and is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Piedmont Technical College cardiovascular technology major Shannon Grismer of Ware Shoals recently received the 2011 Jeanne Florence Scholarship Award. Scholarship awards were presented at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon where a record number of awards were given for the 2010-2011 academic year.
