Scholarship Recipients Recognized at Luncheon
Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.
Piedmont Technical College student and Ninety Six resident Patricia Nguyen (right) was recently awarded the Charles M. Cox, Jr. Scholarship. Nguyen, a funeral service student is congratulated by Brenda Brooks, scholarship committee member. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the Funeral Service program who has maintained a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Piedmont Technical College student and Saluda resident Brent Lake (right) recently received the C.Y. Thomason, Sr. Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Lake, a building construction technology student, is congratulated by Richard Thomason, scholarship donor and presenter. Named for Thomason’s grandfather, C.Y. Thomason, who was a contractor for 50 years, the scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the Building Construction Technology program.
Piedmont Technical College student April Davis (center) recently received the Greenwood Vocational Rehabilitation Advisory Board Scholarship. Davis, a human services major from Honea Path, was congratulated by advisory board representatives Derrel Gregory (left) and Houston Matthews (right). Awarded annually to second-year human services students from Greenwood, Abbeville, McCormick or Saluda County, the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.

The scholarship is awarded annually to second-year students in associate degree programs and is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Two Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Sterilite Corporation Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. This scholarship is available to Sterilite employees and members of their immediate family from Laurens and Greenwood who show academic achievement and financial need.
