Scholarships Awarded
Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.
Two Piedmont Technical College students recently received the Paul DeLoache Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are Helena Rogers, an associate degree nursing student from Saluda (left) and Becky McIntosh, vice president for student development. Not pictured is Lisa Stone, an agriculture student from Saluda. The scholarship is awarded annually to a Saluda resident and is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Six Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Access and Equity Scholarship. Pictured, from left, are Sylvia Smith, an associate in science student from McCormick; Diamond Niles, an associate degree nursing student from Abbeville; Quanesha Rikard, an ADN student from Newberry; Symone Robinson, a general education student from Greenwood; Steve Coleman, director of College Outreach; and Joe Brown, a computer technology student from Whitmire. Awarded annually, the scholarship is based on academic standing, volunteerism and faculty and advisor recommendations.
Piedmont Technical College student and Hodges resident Aaron Walker (right) was recently granted the Abbeville Savings and Loan Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Walker, a building construction technology (BCT) major at Piedmont Technical College, is pictured with Chad Teague, a BCT instructor. Awarded annually to a BCT student from Abbeville or Greenwood, the scholarship is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Two Piedmont Technical College students were recently presented the Bailey Foundation Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Joel Kuiper, a business management student from Laurens; Suzy Murray, scholarship committee representative; and Michael Hobby, a business major from Cross Hill. The scholarship is awarded each year to Laurens County students majoring in business or computer technology, based on academic achievement and financial need.
Three Piedmont Technical College students recently received the Charles Baumeister Memorial Scholarship. Pictured are, from left, Jessica Gibert, an associate degree nursing student from Greenwood; Devita Watkins, a computer technology student from Greenwood; presenter Sally Baumeister; and Josef Myshkovskiy, a heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology student from Due West. The scholarship, which is awarded to a student with a 3.0 grade point average, was established in memory of Charles Baumeister, a long-time faculty member of the college who served as dean of the Business and Industrial Divisions and vice president for Educational Affairs.
