$10,000 donation for PTC welding scholarhip

A scholarship named in honor of Piedmont Technical College graduate Grey Hamlett will continue providing financial support for welding students, thanks to a $10,000 donation recently presented by Hamlett's mother, Cynthia Hamlett-Dorsey, and his stepfather, Terry Dorsey.
About a year after completing the welding program at PTC in 2021, Grey Hamlett died at age 22 in a motor-vehicle accident. The Grey Hamlett Welding Scholarship was created a few months later by his family and friends.
