Earning your Part 107 Remote Pilots Certificate is required by the FAA for all commercial drone operations. This in-person test prep course focuses on applicable regulations relating to small, unmanned aircraft system rating privileges, limitations, and flight operation; airspace classification and operating requirements, and flight restrictions affecting small, unmanned aircraft operation; aviation weather sources and effects of weather on small, unmanned aircraft performance; emergency procedures; aeronautical decision-making and judgment; maintenance and preflight inspection procedures; and airport operations. To become a pilot, you must be at least 16 years old; be able to read, speak, write, and understand English; be in a physical and mental condition to safely fly a drone; and pass the initial aeronautical knowledge exam: "Unmanned Aircraft General – Small (UAG)." The course meeting location will be sent via email to all enrolled participants in advance of the start date. The $495 course registration fee includes an instructional handbook. *Please note the exam is not included in the course curriculum; however, the instructor will provide guidance and options about existing test sites.
