MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or agricultural studies and experience in marketing and/or promoting agricultural products. Must possess a valid driver's license.
Position will require excellent organizational and management skills, working knowledge of computer-based systems, website skills, excellent public speaking skills and communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Background in farm production, marketing, food development and marketing, or agricultural related professional association. Experience in working with a Board of Directors. Event planning and public relations experience strongly preferred.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the awareness, consumption, and sales of products manufactured in South Carolina. Develop, coordinate, and implement strategies to promote agriculture to consumers using all media resources, community events, and other promotional strategies to reach larger audiences with seasonal agricultural messages.
Serve as key coordinator of Certified Roadside Market Program. Serve as SCDA's liaison with the Specialty Food Producers Association, the ornamental horticulture industry, and other grower organizations.
Maintain program area databases and perform updates on program areas websites. Communicate with consumers, agritourism operations, etc. utilizing various forms of social media. Assist in agency agritourism programming.
