Technical degree from College or University, or equivalent Mechanical Engineering experience or technical support in paper mill operations or heavy machinery shop environment, or paper machinery applications engineering experience. Must have demonstration leadership experience; initiative and drive to lead others.
Familiarity with paper machine and good knowledge of rolls is preferred.
Responsible to perform all necessary calculations required to ensure that the product is safe, reliable and that it meets the design specifications and established company standards. Participate in monitoring progress of quotation to ensure requested quotation date is met. Prepare proposals (quotations, specifications) to meet customer needs. Work with Sales and project specialist to analyze customer needs to develop appropriate technical process solutions and delivery scopes. Must be available to make product presentation at Mill site and perform roll measurement as needed. Evaluate the impact of minor deviations from specifications and determine if the product still meets customer requirements and if salvage is possible. Review project costs to analyze variances from estimates to develop corrective actions. Prepare As-Sold documents for use in Engineering, Project Management, and Finance. Work with sales, business line, product unit, engineering, and project management personnel. Interact professionally with customers, consultants, and sub-suppliers. Assist with the preparation and distribution of technical sales information. Follow-up the project through the warranty period. Other duties may be assigned.
