Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree required in English,journalism,marketing,communications or a related field,with 3-5 years of experience in writing,editing,proofreading in news,communications,marketing,public relations or writing.Master's degree preferred.Experience with communication/marketing plan development in a higher education setting is preferred.Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.Experience with design software and knowledge of the printing industry is a plus.A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.

Job Description:

The Assistant Director of University Relations serves as a critical part of the public relations and marketing team,supporting the development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies that shape the public?s perception of the University and its constituents.Works closely with arrange of stakeholders including staff,faculty,students,alumni,donors and friends to develop and promote content for internal and external audiences via the university?s print and digital media platforms.Writing assignments will include press releases,feature stories,video scripts,solicitations,brochures,campaign collateral,event collateral and web content.Serving as proof reader and editorial assistant for print and electronic publications,the Assistant Director will share responsibility for ensuring external communications meet the University?s standards of quality,accuracy and message consistency.The Assistant Director will be responsible for collaborating with the Director on complex assignments and projects that further the strategic goals of the University.The ideal candidate will be a highly organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced,deadline-driven atmosphere,and one who understands the opportunities and challenges of public relations in higher education environments.

Schedule:
8:30am ?5:00pm, Monday ?Friday(Requires weekend and evening work with occasional overnight travel.)
