Wages/Salary: $45,000-$55,000
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in small engine repair, diesel mechanics, or related field preferred.
- Preferably 2-3 years of experience working with golf course maintenance equipment, turf maintenance equipment, or similar machinery.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, mechanical repair, and small engine diagnostics.
- Experience with reel and bedknife grinding preferred.
- Familiarity with John Deere equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions in urgent situations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
The Assistant Equipment Manager will report to the Equipment Manager, Superintendent, and Director of Golf & Grounds. The Assistant Equipment Manager will work with this team to support the maintenance, repair, and operation of the golf course’s existing and expanding equipment fleet at Olde Eight. With the Olde Eight undergoing a significant redesign and the fleet set to grow with new John Deere equipment, this role will play a crucial part in ensuring all maintenance equipment is kept in optimal working condition. The Assistant Equipment Manager will be responsible for preventive maintenance, repairs, and ensuring equipment is set up to deliver the highest quality of cut. This position will be primarily based in the maintenance shop, with responsibilities extending to on-course quality control and urgent equipment repairs.
