A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required.
Assists in performing road asset inventories and gathering data for the roadway assets program to maintain current and accurate information. Assists with gathering data for maintenance contracts such as sidewalk, pipe repair, sweeping, widening, bridge repair, and cable/guardrail repair. Assists in the inspection of work performed on maintenance contracts and policing of active encroachment permits ensuring safe work zone setup, and contract specifications are met. Assists Resident Maintenance Engineer to perform preparatory work gathering quantities for all types of upcoming contracts as well as routine maintenance work and entering data into HMMS. Assists with maintaining drawing and engineering data files, including road-specific files for all work done on State maintained roads in Newberry County. Other related duties as required includes working during emergencies, snow/ice, inclement weather, or project-specific duties.
